Big deal at 12 you were shooting an Ar-15 and an Ak-47. Both have gas tubes plus a large buffer spring to help the recoil. Shit, you can shoot both with the butt end of them against your ball sack and then pull the trigger. It won't do squat! Some of the guns in here are high in recoil. THe 50 caliber pistol and other will kick even the most advanced shooter. Leaning does not do much unless you have the rifle tucked into the shoulder tightly.

In response to jake, Yes it is a pistol, and some rifles. But AR-15's and Ak's dont have much recoil anyways. A .45 has higher recoil than those two. I saw one SKS and the SKS has high recoil and is very loud. Not putting you down, but those people where very inexperienced and need Gun training.

Wrong. Traditional Kalashnikov-pattern rifles fire the 7.62x39, just like the SKS. Newer Kalashnikov variants fire the 5.45x39 round. The 7.62x54R rimmed cartridge is generally used only in machine guns and the SVD rifle.

The AK-47 was designed by Mr. Kalashnikov as an 'assault rifle' (sturmgewehr), chambered for the medium-powered 7.62x39mm Russian round then in use in Mr. Simonov rifle, the SKS.
The 7.62x54mm is the "full power" rifle round, comparable to the US .30-06, and which is fired in the Nagant bolt-action rifles.
Both the AK-47 and the SKS have moderate recoil, easily controlled on full-auto by even very young fighters, such as ten or eleven year old Liberian "freedom fighters".

Gravithan, an SKS and AK-47 shoot the same ammo and have very similar recoil and sound. An AK-47 with a milled receiver has slightly less recoil due to the amount of mass of the gun, but it is still very close. The labcoat guys were dropping a .50 caliber light rifle, which has enough recoil to knock a grown man down if he is not trained in proper grip and stance. That is why most .50's are fired from a prone position.

You need to realize some of the guns they are firing have ENORMOUS recoil: one is the The Thomson Contender 'Encore,' which fires .600 Nitro Express Magnum, the .577 T Rex (mentioned before), and a Desert Eagle. Many of these people are acting outright stupid the way they are handling the firearms, but many are using guns with recoil that only advanced shooters should be handling.
