Many African Americans rely so much on other people in my classrooms. If others don't arrive on time or do well they admit to it, but the African American students always whine and act as if they are being singled out for racial reasons. I wonder why they feel they can always come in late, do things halfway, come unprepared, or do things with little thought to others, and yet still claim that they are being persecuted. It definitely makes me question immediately respecting them despite race.
